Yanqiu Lin

Biography

Yanqiu Lin is a PhD student at the Cinema Studies Institute. She completed her M.A. in Film and Media Studies at Columbia University, where she wrote a thesis on how viewers perceive discontinuous elements in contemporary Hollywood cinema, particularly when reconsidering the notion of film as an “illusion.” Her current research interests include the theorization of camera movement, evolving cinematic techniques, spectatorship, and film phenomenology. Additionally, she is working on translating her fiction works into English.
