Biography

Dillan Newman’s research explores the intersections of time, philosophy, politics, and cinema. His work is concerned with how the future is conceived and shaped through conceptions of time that are both reflected in, and reinforced through cinema, and what this can reveal and teach about the horizons of progressive political action and socio-economic possibilities. His past research dealt with the aesthetics of decay and radical politics, and the ambiguity of perception and cinematic representation.
