Carrie Reese

Carrie Reese's research combines experimental film and media, continental philosophy, and intermedial theory. Looking at the influence of mediation on Ana Mendieta’s artworks, her dissertation, “Intermedial Incisions: Ana Mendieta’s Moving Image Work,” focuses on theories of form and media in Mendieta’s experimental and intermedial films. Her next research project conceptualizes a feminist discourse that arises from the labor of film editing, a job historically given to un- or under-credited women workers.
