Biography :
Morgan Harper is a PhD Candidate at the University of Toronto’s Cinema Studies Institute. He holds a BA (Honours) and an MA in Film Studies from the University of British Columbia. Morgan’s dissertation considers Manhattan as an inhospitable setting for criminalized drug use through the films of David Wojnarowicz, Khalik Allah, Abel Ferrara, and Zoë Lund, amongst others. His research interests include film theory, drug prohibition, theories of set and setting, New York, surrealism, and moral philosophy.
